Frequently asked
Do I need an Apple Watch?
No. A walk runs on the iPhone alone, with the iPhone in your pocket. With an Apple Watch you also get heart rate, and you can start a walk on either device.
When does a walk count?
After 100 metres or 2 minutes, whichever comes first. Every walk counts towards your streak and your weekly goal, with or without a challenge.
I don't like today's challenge
Roll a new one — twice per walk. Or start a free walk without a challenge.
My walk has no route
The route needs location access, set to precise. Check Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Walk & Snap. If location is off, the home screen shows “Location is off” with a way to the settings, and walks are recorded without a route.
I recorded a walk with the Workout app
Walk & Snap offers walking workouts from Apple Health afterwards, with their route. You can also add a walk yourself in the journal with Add walk.
Where are my photos?
In the app, on your walk and on your map. They sync to your other devices through your own iCloud. If you want a copy in your photo library, turn that on in the settings, or save a single photo with Save to Photos on the walk.
My walks don't show up on my other device
Check that both devices are signed in to the same iCloud account and that iCloud is enabled for Walk & Snap under Settings → your name → iCloud. The first sync after installing can take a few minutes.
How do I delete a walk?
Press and hold the walk in the journal and choose Delete walk. Its photos are deleted with it. The workout in Apple Health stays; you can delete it in the Health app.
Does the app collect my data?
No. There is no account and no server of ours. Everything stays on your devices and in your own iCloud. Details in the privacy policy.
